Each episode is a deep dive into the pressing issues we face today, blending academia with real-world perspectives.Whether you're a history buff, national security enthusiast, or just curious about the world around us, I invite you to join me on this intellectual adventure. Let's turn the mundane commute or workout into an opportunity for thoughtful insights and discussions!I've posted my first two episodes on apple podcasts and plan on posting every week! https://lnkd.in/dj39VzQBFeel free to connect, and let's keep the conversation going. It would be savvy if it weren't on Apple, but that's a personal business preference

We live in an age of increasing hopeless and nihilism. The reason we go down those dark paths is because we have been taught (falsely) that our current political and economic systems are natural and inevitable. They aren't. There is a whole world of experience out there from both the past and present that defies this inevitability, but unless you're looking for other approaches and other ways of knowing, you can't easily see them. For that reason, I have decided to launch a new podcast called, Re-weaving. Because it's time that we started playing with ideas again. It's time we start imagining all kinds of possibilities. The podcasts will feature guests with both old and new ideas that allow us to imagine a different kind of future. My first episode will livestream next Monday June 26th at 7pm MDT out of Denver over on YouTube. There will be a replay on YouTube and I will ultimately upload the series to a variety of services. But I stream live on YouTube because I want people to have the opportunity to ask questions and engage with the people I bring on to the show. Let's play with ideas. Let's imagine other possibilities. Let's be curious instead of furious. You can find all the info, including the link to the livestream on my substack feed. https://lnkd.in/g4C_u-pP#podcast #economics #politics #reweaving #rethinking #imagination #curiosity

When we are overcome by our emotions, especially fear or anger, our brain can lose its capacity to reason. When this happens, it’s hard to think, and the phenomenon is referred to as an amygdala hijack. The amygdala, which is responsible for fear, anger, and other emotions, takes over the prefrontal cortex, which is responsible for executive thinking, judgment, reasoning, and higher thinking. But here’s a great brain hack to deal with this, as described by multiple New York Times best-selling author, the hilarious and brilliant AJ Jacobs: get curious, not furious. Activating curiosity can override the action of the amygdala and activate your prefrontal cortex, so your executive brain can call the shots. So, listen in as four-time guest, AJ and I talk about getting curious and not furious, as well as sprinkling in some gratitude for good measure. 🤓 This raised my interest, definitely.🤩 Some background summary here: https://lnkd.in/ddm4UJEe ”Pleasure can then be enjoyed as a by-product of meaning.”😎 Particulartly, as I recently followed the example of Matthew McConaughey’s 10 goals in life; very interesting story behind this; better check the podcast interview from the school of greatness series. Warm recommendation! 😊 As defining the goals in pursue of the meaning, this is what I came to think of too. Pleasure is a by product of meaning!

🎙️ #FlashBackFriday: Lindsay Graham of American History Tellers 🎙️A few episodes ago, I sat down with Lindsay Graham, host of the thought-provoking #AmericanHistoryTellers podcast. If you missed it, watch here on Strategos Group's #podcast network:https://lnkd.in/eEWePk_nAs spirited debates about historical perspectives dominate headlines,Lindsay reminds us that history is human and inherently messy. It's a tapestry woven with the threads of countless lives, each one intricate, complicated, and nuanced, just like the people we know and love. When we remember history through this lens, as the story of flawed, multi-faceted humans, it transforms our perspective. We begin to see events not as isolated occurrences, but as part of an intricate dance against the backdrop of each era. It's the realization that history isn't just a collection of facts and dates; it's a reflection of our shared human experience. In a world that often seeks simplicity and clarity, Lindsay reminds us of the richness of history and the importance of understanding it in all its complexity. It's through this understanding that we can truly grasp the lessons, the triumphs, and the tragedies that have shaped our world.#OntheClock #HistoryIsHuman #PodcastEpisode #SharedHumanity #HistoryMatters #EdChat #Education #EducationMatters #EducationLeaders #EducationLeadership

How curious are you? The answer to that question will dictate the level of success you achieve in everything in life. Curious people ask good questions, challenge the status quo, and want to learn. They desire growth and use their curiosity to fuel that growth. Unfortunately, we lose some of our curiosity as we grow. Instead of becoming more curious, many of us fall into "the way we've always done this" thinking, not asking questions or challenging the way the world does things. The result? We fall into ruts.Want to get unstuck? Get curious again. Tap into your 7-year-old self and start exploring again. Use your imagination again.Catch this full episode at www.gritmeetsgrowth.com or wherever you get your podcasts. Or, watch it YouTube at https://lnkd.in/dSaHWWZJ

As a 16-year-old teenager, I'm still in the process of exploring various aspects of life. Running a podcast has been immensely helpful for me to understand these crucial aspects and connect with people around the world. I consider myself fortunate to have the opportunity to start a podcast and engage in conversations with interesting individuals. 🎙️🌍In my latest podcast episode, I had the pleasure of interviewing Julian Berstch, where we delved into a wide range of topics. I believe that the discussions we had can resonate with people from different parts of the world. 🗣️💭One of the key areas of interest for many individuals is the role of money in life. It is a topic that requires time and effort to comprehend from different perspectives. 💰🌟 In the year 2023, with the internet serving as a medium, we have access to a plethora of ideas on personal and financial freedom. Many young people, particularly from Generation Z, aspire to achieve this freedom in the future. In a recent short video, I asked Julian, who is 20 years old, to share his perspective and shed light on what it means to pursue financial freedom from a different angle. 📽️💡If you're interested in gaining insights into these topics, I invite you to watch the video and join the conversation. 📺🤝#opportunity #share #people #video #future #podcast #interviewing #money Here is the Link for the full podcast: https://lnkd.in/gfdq-qMd

If you were to track how many times per day someone tried to convince you to change in some way, chances are you’d fill up pages worth of tally marks. We often get sucked into thinking that the way to change people’s minds to get them to do what we want them to do is to present them with enough evidence, data, and proof that our way is the “right” way.But deep down, you know that’s not how it works, don’t you?If you’re not sure, allow my guest, Michael McQueen, to lay it out for you.Michael is the author of the book “Mindstuck: Mastering the Art of Changing Minds,” and in this conversation, Michael outlines why so often, our approach to change fails to take into account two of the most important factors in human belief and behavior: identity and dignity.Listen at the link in the comments or wherever you get your podcasts.
