It’s the dashcam video that has everyone in New Jersey — and increasingly around the country — talking.
Caren Z. Turner, a now-ex-Commissioner for the Port Authority inserted herself into a routine traffic stop involving her daughter, and in the process behaved so obnoxiouslytowards Tenafly police officers that she turned herself into a viral sensation.
Except not the good kind.
Since Tenafly police released the dashcam video on Tuesday, both social media and the NJ.com comments section havebeen aflame with passionate and, in some cases, surprisingly thoughtful responses.
Could Caren Z. Turner, "friend of the mayor," "a Tenafly resident for more than 20 years," in those frenzied moments along Route 9W, have imaginedthat countless peoplewould spare eight minutes of their lives towatch herimplodeon dashcam? That she wouldunite us, once and for all, the entire state of New Jersey in collectivehead-shaking?
Given Turner doubled-down on the situation on Wednesday — issuing perhaps the most spectacularly tone-deaf "Sorry Not Sorry" non-apologywe've seen in ages — don't expect the controversy to die down anytime soon.
