We are closely aligned with the many specialty services of Prisma Health Children’s Hospital, including the highest level of pediatric inpatient care in the Upstate. Children’s Hospital employs multiple pediatric sub-specialists in fields ranging from cardiology to neurosurgery. Its child-friendly medical facilities include the region’s most advanced neonatal intensive care unit and perinatal center, along with a dedicated Children’s Emergency Center open around the clock.

In the hospital immediately after your baby is born, newborn care will be provided by Prisma Health newborn hospitalists. These hospitalists are dedicated to newborn care and will manage any needs of your new baby. They will be present on-site 24 hours, seven days a week, and will evaluate your baby’s progress regularly.

When your baby is ready to go home, the hospitalist team will help you arrange follow-up care with us in the office. At that time, we will have access to your baby’s newborn care and medical information via Prisma Health’s electronic medical records system. We are excited to meet your new arrival in our office.

Our office follows the guidelines given by the American Academy of Pediatrics for well-child visits. After being discharged from the hospital, you should ensure an appointment is scheduled at one of our office locations within 2–3 days.

After your initial visit, you will be scheduled for regular visits beginning at 2 weeks of age. After this visit, you will be scheduled for: 2-month, 4-month, 6-month, 9-month, 12-month, 15-month and 18-month. Your child will begin a yearly routine at the age of 2 years old. It is the recommendation of our doctors that physicals for 5-year-olds and up be done in the spring and summer months.

Well-child checks can be scheduled up to three months in advance.
