What are Flag Rewards?
Your Post can receive a 10¢ credit for each dollar spent on the purchase of or AmericanLegionFlags.com. This includes purchases made by your Post, as well as members, friends, neighbors, schools, & businesses that choose to sponsor your Post and buy their flags from The American Legion.

How are Flag Rewards earned?
Your Post will earn a 10¢ Flag Rewards credit for every dollar (excluding taxes & shipping) your Post or sponsors spend on or AmericanLegionFlags.com.

What can a Post purchase with its Flag Rewards credit?
Anything available from Emblem Sales (awards, uniforms, shirts, caps, pins, coins, patches, flags, baseballs, etc).

How can my Post earn Flag Rewards?
- Ask. Ask potential sponsors to purchase their or AmericanLegionFlags.com.
- Buy & re-sell. Your Post can buy flags and re-sell them to sponsors.

Anyone who chooses to have their or AmericanLegionFlags.com benefit your Post.

How will a sponsor's American flag purchase be credited to my Post?
If a sponsor purchases an or AmericanLegionFlags.com, they can request that their purchase benefit your Post. Here's how:
- Ordering by phone: Tell Customer Service Representative they want to sponsor your Post
- Ordering by mail: Note they want to sponsor your Post on their order form
- Ordering online:
- Customers who don't have an account: Visit Create Account page, complete required fields, and at the bottom of the form, enter your Post number & Post state.
- Customers with an existing account: Log in, visit Update Profile page, and at the bottom of the page, enter your Post number & Post state.
- Please Note: Once the previous steps have been taken, going forward, the Sponsor will need to log in before they check out to ensure your Post receives credit for their American flag purchases.

Does a sponsor need to request a Post sponsorship each time they purchase from Emblem Sales?
Once a sponsor has created an account & chosen a local Post, as long as they log in before checking out, their or AmericanLegionFlags.com will automatically benefit the Post.

Can a sponsor change the Post they are sponsoring?
Yes. A sponsor can contact Emblem Sales and request a change at any time.

How do sponsors benefit?
They will be proud to know their or AmericanLegionFlags.com are helping local veterans serve their communities. They can take advantage of Emblem Sales’ low flag prices, great quality, & made-in-the-USA flags.

How can my Post enroll in this program and start earning Flag Rewards?
Your Post Adjutant must fill out an enrollment form [PDF] and mail or fax it to Emblem Sales or complete the form online.

When can my Post use its Flag Rewards?
Flag Rewards earned for the calendar year will be credited to your Post account once a year, by February 1st of the following year. For example, Flag Rewards earned in 2023 will be available on February 1, 2024 and may be used on any transactions through the end of 2024.

When do Flag Rewards expire?
Your Post will have 11 months (February 1-December 31) to spend its Flag Rewards credit, which expire on December 31st each year.

Who can make a purchase using a Flag Rewards credit?
Only your Post Adjutant (or designated representative) can make purchases using Flag Rewards credit.

How are purchases using Flag Rewards regulated?
Your Post Adjutant will supply us with an email & password. Purchases via our web site must use this designated email & password to gain access to the Flag Rewards credit. Purchases via phone or mail must supply the designated email & password to gain access to the Flag Rewards credit.

What if we lose our email address or password, or want to change it?
Your Post Adjutant must fill out a new enrollment form [PDF] and email, mail, or fax it to Emblem Sales or re-submit the form online.

How will I know how much Flag Rewards credit my Post has available to spend?
The Post Adjutant may call Emblem Sales, or log in with the designated email & password. If a credit is available, you'll see a link to the Flag Rewards credit and have an option to use it to pay during checkout.

Can I find out how my Post’s Flag Rewards credits were earned?
Yes, an annual statement showing all or AmericanLegionFlags.com is available upon request. Call (888) 453-4466 or email emblem@legion.org.

Can I find out how my Post’s Flag Rewards credits were spent?
Yes, upon request, a report can be emailed to the Post Adjutant’s designated email showing all Flag Rewards credits used. Call (888) 453-4466 or email emblem@legion.org.

Tips & Suggestions
- Designate a Flag Officer to lead your Post’s sponsorship campaign.
- Personally visit local schools, businesses, & homes that display the American flag and request they purchase their flags from The American Legion to directly benefit your Post.
- Solicitation flyer [PDF]
- Publicly recognize sponsors in newspaper ads or Post newsletters, and thank them with certificates, plaques, or other tokens of appreciation:
