Can I walk into the Florida DMV without an appointment? ›

The Division of Motorist Services has driver license service centers located throughout the state. Depending on your location the office may offer services on a walk-in or appointment only basis. Visit our Locations page for addresses, telephone numbers and hours of operation.

If you choose to make an appointment, you can either schedule it over the phone or use the online appointment service. To make an appointment online, visit the OASIS, the Online Appointment Service and Information System.

If your driver license and license plate(s) are suspended for not having insurance under the No-Fault Law, you will have to pay $150 and show proof of insurance to get them back. If it happens a second time within three years, you will pay $250. If it happens three times within three years, you will have to pay $500.

If you are eligible to renew or replace your Florida ID card online, go to GoRenew.com and follow the on-screen directions. You will need to enter your social security number, which the Florida state-authorized driving services will verify before a new card is issued.

Customers are limited to two (2) open appointments at any time. Once your appointment time has passed you can schedule an additional appointment. Select a location to start.

Driver's License/ID Cards

The fee for an initial Florida Class E license (including learner's permit) is $48.00, a commercial driver license (Class A) license is $75.00 and endorsem*nts are $7.00 each. The fee for an ID Card is $25.00. Most local Tax Collector offices also charge a $6.25 service fee.

How much to reinstate your license in Florida? The standard fee for reinstating your license is $45. However, if you've allowed your license to fault to a revocation, then you can expect to pay upwards to $75.

You cannot renew your Florida driver's license online if: You last renewed your license online, by mail or over the phone. You are not a U.S. citizen or permanent resident. You are renewing a Commercial Driver's License (CDL)

Can you get a Florida ID without a social security card? ›

If you have any questions, please contact The Office of International Programs. For original driver license or ID Card, Florida law now requires identification, proof of date of birth, proof of residential address, and proof of social security number from all customers before a driver license or ID card can be issued.

The Florida Points System

The length of suspension depends on the number of points you've accumulated: 12 points within a 12-month period: 30-day suspension. 18 points within an 18-month period: One-month suspension. 24 points within a three-year period: One-year suspension.

Section 320.02(12), Florida Statutes, requires registration or re-registration to be withheld on any motor vehicle whether the owner or co-owner of the vehicle has a suspension against the driver license. Florida law requires fines and violations to be paid regardless of which co-owner committed the violation.

Penalties. You must maintain required insurance coverage throughout the registration period or your driving privilege and license plate may be suspended for up to three years. There are no provisions for a temporary or hardship driver license for insurance-related suspensions.
